DTF powder is what a buyer feels first. A well pressed transfer sits inside the weave and reads as part of the garment, while an over powdered one feels like a plastic patch and takes on a shine. Too little powder produces a transfer that peels at the corners, so the target is a thin, even layer rather than a heavy one.
Even coverage matters as much as quantity. Adhesion faults appear late. Run every new fabric and powder combination through a repeated wash cycle before it enters production.
Judge three things after washing: edge lift, cracking across the design, and color change. Edge lift points at under curing or too little powder, cracking points at an over cured or over powdered layer, and color change points at the ink or the fibre rather than at the adhesive.
