How do I create on-model photos with AI Wardrobe?

AI Wardrobe is a beta tool inside your CatKissFish account. It turns a design you have already saved into a photo of a real model wearing it — 1200 × 1200 px, white background.

It does not create new artwork, and it does not replace product photography. Use it for the gallery images that show how a print sits on a body; keep your own close-ups for fabric, stitching and detail.

Where to find it: sign in, then your account menu → My Products → AI Wardrobe (Beta).

1. Before you start

  • At least one saved design under My Design. AI Wardrobe only works with designs you have already built.
  • Points in your account. The tool is charged in points at 100 points per reference image. Your balance is shown in the top bar of the page and on the Membership page.
  • The tool is labelled Beta. Steps, limits and point prices may still change.

2. Step 1 — Select a mockup and a color

Click Add Design and pick a design from the list. The list shows Design ID, designer, product and price. You cannot upload a new file at this step.

Then choose one mockup and, if the design comes in several colors, one color. The color you pick is the one that gets rendered.

The page notes: "You can select up to 1 mockup. Due to the randomness of AI generation, slight variations may occur."

3. Step 2 — Select reference images

The reference image is the photo you want the result to look like. It decides body type, skin tone, pose and framing.

Two sources:

  • Image library — CatKissFish model photos, filterable by Gender, Age, Skin Tone and Body.
  • Private custom — upload your own reference photo with Browse Images.

You can select up to 5 reference images. Each one costs 100 points, and each reference image produces one photo — pick five models and you get five photos from the same design in one run.

Framing matters: the output follows your reference. A half-body reference returns a half-body photo. If you need the face in frame, choose a reference that shows the face.

4. Step 3 — Select a model (optional)

Choose from Public model or Private model, or skip this step entirely. The reference image alone is enough to generate.

5. Generate and pay

The Create button shows the total before you commit:

  • 1 reference image → Spend 100 points
  • 2 reference images → Spend 200 points

Points are deducted when you submit, not when you download. Generation takes about two minutes; the new row appears in the list with status Success when it is ready.

6. Download and use the result

Each row in the list gives you:

  • Download — the AI photo
  • Image Replacement — swap the effect image on that design
  • Delete — remove the record

Files are 1200 × 1200 px on a white background, which fits Shopify and Etsy gallery slots without cropping. Records are grouped by Design ID, so you do not have to rename anything.

7. How points are charged

  • 100 points per reference image, maximum 5 per run (500 points).
  • Points are charged on submit.
  • If a generation fails or comes back unusable, send the record ID to your account manager. Do not resubmit blindly — a new run is a new charge.

8. Tips for a usable result

  • Match framing to purpose. Full-body reference for silhouette and length; half-body for print placement.
  • Keep the palette close. If the mockup color and the reference garment color are far apart, the model has to reconcile two palettes and the print can shift.
  • Expect small differences between runs. This is how the model works, not a defect.
  • Not every product category is enabled yet. If your design does not appear in the list, use the standard Mockup Generator and tell your account manager which product you need.

9. FAQ

Can I generate a photo for a design I have not created yet?

No. Create the design first under My Design, then come back.

Can I use my own model?

Yes, as a reference photo — upload it under Private custom. There is no separate product for buying or training a dedicated model at the moment.

Does it work for 2D print products?

Full-print (all-over print) designs are the best tested path. Results on partially printed products vary, so check the first output before generating a batch.
