Fabric weight and drape decide how a garment hangs on a body, and together they shape fit perception more than any measurement on a size chart. Drape controls where a garment folds. A fabric that falls in long vertical folds reads as relaxed and expensive. A fabric that folds in short, tight creases looks thin and can cling where a customer does not want it to.
